Fine Quality Victorian Burr Yew Mantel Clock
A fine quality solid burr yew mantle clock with decorative porcelain dial and 8 day French movement c.1890. The choice cut burr yew case with moulded plinth forming the foot and stepped moulded top forming a pediment. Convex porcelain dial with swags of flowers forming a decorative boarder, Arabic numerals and decorative fretwork plus gilded brass hands, all sat behind a matching convex glass set in a hinged brass bezel opening for adjusting the time. 8 day Paris made movement with platform escapement accessed to the rear and sat behind a hinged brass door. Superb quality and conditio...n, fully overhauled and working and presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine. Measures 5.5" wide x 3" deep x 7.5" high. Stock number 39618.
