Fine Quality Antique Bow Front Stick Barometer
A fine quality figured mahogany bow fronted stick barometer in full working order C.1835. Swan neck pediment to the top with bowed glass view window below. Figured timber ebony strung bow fronted case with urn shaped cistern cover to the base. Long thermometer box to the centre with matching bowed glass. The engraved silvered scale with remote adjustable vernier marker and bearing the makers name M Gardner & Co, Glasgow ( working 1827- 37 ) The matching silvered scale thermometer with original mercury action thermometer. Superb condition with an excellent colour and original unrestored patina.... Fully overhauled movement. Measures 38" long x 5" wide at the top x 2.5" wide at the trunk x 2.5" maximum depth.
