A fine original oil on canvas by Marcel Masson painted under the pseudonym Antoine Blanchard depicting a typical Parisian street scene c.1950's. Painted in a style typical of the artist depicting a... murky Parisian street scene with shoppers in the foreground and traffic heading off into the distance, with gas lamps burning on the roadsides. Very colourful with the pedestrians and shop canopies painted in rich reds, greens and yellows. Signed bottom left by the artist, presented in excellent original condition in a quality frame and slip. Fully authenticated. Marcel Masson was born in 1910 and trained at the Beaux-Arts in Rennes, Brittany. He moved to Paris in the early 1930's and started painting his street scenes in the 1950's very often from vintage postcards. He died in 1988. His works are sought after internationally.
