A Georgian oak cased 8 Day longcase clock made by Fisher of Preston c.1765. Brass and silvered dial with engraved centre, gilt spandrels to the corners, date aperture and seconds count. Fine Gillows of Lancaster case with shaped top case door flanked by quarter turned columns. Canted corners to the base, standing on shaped bracket feet. Swan neck pediment to the hood with matching turned pillars. Strikes on a bell to the hour. John Fisher of Preston working 1742-1782. Full working order. Superb colour and condition. Stands 20" wide x 10" deep x 85" high. SN 37340.
