Fine George III Mahogany 8 Day Moon Phases Longcase Clock
A fine quality and very original George III period mahogany 8 day longcase clock with painted dial and moon phases to the arch. C1775. Figured timber case with book matched veneers and Sheraton inlays. Swan neck pediment to the hood with reeded pillars and Chippendale style pillars to the trunk. Canted corners to the base and moulded foot with ogee bracket feet. Painted 'strawberry blossom' dial with rolling moon phases to the arch, seconds dial and date aperture. Made by John Bradshaw of Manchester. Superb fully restored original movement with bell striking to the hour. Good colour and polish... throughout. Measures 92" tall x 22" wide at widest point x 9.5" deep. Stock number 33727.
