A superb Edwardian solid oak sign written St Johns College, Cambridge filing cabinet by The Shannon File Company London with a bank of file drawers sat over a cupboard base c.1900. Solid figur...ed oak top with moulded edges sat over a bank of nine A4 sized file drawers each with the original brass handle and label holder combination bearing the makers trademark for The Shannon File Company, London. Ledge to front with two pull out surface extensions and spacious double door cupboard below with central shelf. Moulded edges to the panelled sides, fielded edges to the drawers, moulded apron foot to the base. The front with old sign written decoration for St John' s College Porters lodge, Cambridge, in excellent condition. A most unusual and collectable item by a superior quality manufacturer, presented in excellent condition with a deep shine and original patina. Measures 33" wide x 25" maximum depth x 50" high. Front ledge 8" deep. Stock number 38893.
