An early Victorian walnut cased Grandmother clock with 8 day bell striking verge movement, fully restored and working c.1860. The figured walnut William & Mary style case with slim proportions, moulded cornice to the hood and blind fretwork panel below, barley twist columns to either side of the hood and view windows showing the movement to the sides. Engraved gilded brass dial with rose decoration sat behind the centre of the hands and Roman numerals to the chapter ring, cast spandrels to the corners; original hand cut decorative blued steel hands. Presented in superb original condition with a rich colour and original patina, the movement fully overhauled and working. Measures 64" high x 12" wide x 7.5" deep at the hood x 6.5" wide trunk. Stock number 40192.
