An early Victorian solid silver faced desktop barometer with removable nickle plated pocket barometer, hallmarked Birmingham 1847. The embossed solid silver front with circular aperture for viewing th...e barometer, the silver returning around the sides to meet the leather covered back with recessed easel stand. Push button release, the case opening to reveal an original green velvet lined interior; aperture to one side to hold the pocket barometer in place. Excellent quality nickel plated pocket barometer with hanging loop to the top and adjustable bezel for marking the reading. Convex enamel dial to the fully working aneroid movement. Presented in good used condition with a deep shine. Measures 4" wide x 4.75" high x 1.5" deep. Barometer 2.75" diameter. Stock number 38114.
