Early Victorian Rosewood Newcastle Stick Barometer

An antique early Victorian rosewood stick barometer c.1850. Made by John Cail of Newcastle upon Tyne(w.1825-65). Porcelain inverted scales with double vernier marker to the top of the mercury glass tube. Bevelled glass front and stepped pediment to the top. Slim proportions to the case with matching porcelain thermometer scale to the centre. Turned cistern cover to the base. Full working order. Superb colour and patina. Measures 38" high x 4.75" wide x 2.5" deep. SN 37338.
