A difficult to find early Victorian double fusee 8 day English dial clock with bell striking to hour in full working order c.1860. The mahogany case with slim moulded surround to the dial, mat...ching back box with access doors forming the sound frets to either side and bowed door to the base. The top of the case with desirable arched top and hanging loop to the back. The original painted dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands along with the makers name E. Dobell of Hastings (Ebenezer Dobell is recorded as making clocks between 1855 & 1878). Double fusee movement with shaped plates and anchor escapement, strikes a bell on the hour. Presented in excellent condition with a deep polish, fully serviced and working. Please call us before travelling to view this item - it may not be on display in the shop.
