Early Victorian Brass Bound Mahogany Deeds Box
A superb quality early Victorian figured mahogany deed box with brass bound edges and original surface securing bolts c.1850. The figured mahogany exterior with rounded brass bound corners, recessed handle to the lid and Bramah lock, the lid opening to reveal an original interior. Full length piano style hinge with steadies to each side, the deep red velvet lined interior with document file to the lid. Recessed bolts to each side to lock the box to a surface or a carriage floor for security, the original polished steel locking key sat in a recess to the right hand side. Superb quality and o...riginal condition, ideal for its original use as a security box or as a large jewellery box. Measures 17.5" wide x 13" deep x 8" high. Stock number 39080.
