A fine quality early Victorian 8 day single fusee English dial clock with convex dial and A frame movement by Samuel Hunter, London c.1840. The mahogany case with slim moulded frame surrounding the di...al, matching back box with side and base doors. 12" convex dial with original paintwork sat behind a matching convex glass sat in a cast brass bezel. The 8 day single fusee movement with anchor escapement and A frame plates; shaped back cock. Samuel Hunter is listed in Britten`s Clocks & Watches as making in Clapham, High street 1811-1856 and Stockwell Place 1836-1839. This superior early dial clock presented in superb original condition, the movement fully overhauled and working. Measures 12" dial x14" diameter x 5.5" deep. Stock number 38140.
