Early Oak Box Stool
An early oak box stool with linen fold carved apron and hinged lid c.1700. Single piece top with moulded edge sat over a deep apron forming the box and linen fold carved decoration to all four sides. Slightly splayed turned legs to the corners, the stiles forming the corners of the box. Moulded stretchers to the base with pegged joints throughout. The hinged lid opening to reveal a clean interior with original decorative hand forged iron hinges. Superb colour and original patina, presented in good original condition. Measures 20" wide x 11.5" deep x 17.5" high. Stoc...k number 41235.
