Early Moorcroft Big Poppy Vase
An early Moorcroft big poppy design vase in mint condition, signed William Moorcroft c.1915. Squat form with wide shouldered top and narrow rolled neck. The body of the vase decorated with a continuous band of tube lined big poppies painted with the earlier and desirable rust coloured flower heads, complemented by ochre coloured leaves and stems. Set against a dark blue washed ground with the clay showing through. Signed William Moorcroft to the base in green along with the Moorcroft factory impressions indicating a date of manufacture c.1915-19. Presented in particular unrestored condition... with no damage or repairs. Measures 3.75" diameter x 5.5" high. Stock number 40819.
