An early Moorcroft big poppy design vase in mint condition, signed William Moorcroft c.1915. Squat form with wide shouldered top and narrow rolled neck. The body of the vase decorated with a contin...uous band of tube lined big poppies painted with the earlier and desirable rust coloured flower heads, complemented by ochre coloured leaves and stems. Set against a dark blue washed ground with the clay showing through. Signed William Moorcroft to the base in green along with the Moorcroft factory impressions indicating a date of manufacture c.1915-19. Presented in particular unrestored condition with no damage or repairs. Measures 3.75" diameter x 5.5" high. Stock number 40819.
