A charming Victorian figured mahogany country house stationary and letter box with concealed pen drawer and painted decoration c.1880. The solid figured mahogany exterior with sloping lid; later painted decoration with letters painted to the lid and stamps painted to the lower edge. Opens to reveal a divided interior for letters, envelopes and paper. Brass peg to the side pulling out to release the concealed pen and ink drawer with campaign style handle and cover to the pen section. Bears the retailers name Waterlow & Sons, London.
