The figured coromandel veneered exterior with sloping front, the corners mounted with brass decoration secured by brass studs, each with matching engraving. The lock set to the centre of the large clasp design decoration to match the corners. The sloping front folding forward and the rear section folding back to reveal a superb original fitted interior. Pen and ink compartments to the rear with gilt brass fittings, decoration and ink well tops.
