A Victorian turned and carved oak leaf wreath design aneroid barometer by Aitchison, London c.1890. The broad turned and carved solid walnut case with oak leaf design wreath to the centre, polished... brass hanging plate to the top. Skeletonised aneroid movement with decorative enamel dial sat around the edge. Sat behind a bevelled edge glass mounted in a polished brass bezel with central reading marker. Bears the makers mark for highly regarded retailer and optician Aitchison, London (later Dolland & Aitchison). Presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine, fully serviced and working. Measures 8" diameter overall with a 4.25" diameter dial x 2" deep. Stock number 40678.
