Aitchison Victorian Walnut Cased Aneroid Barometer
A Victorian turned and carved oak leaf wreath design aneroid barometer by Aitchison, London c.1890. The broad turned and carved solid walnut case with oak leaf design wreath to the centre, polished brass hanging plate to the top. Skeletonised aneroid movement with decorative enamel dial sat around the edge. Sat behind a bevelled edge glass mounted in a polished brass bezel with central reading marker. Bears the makers mark for highly regarded retailer and optician Aitchison, London (later Dolland & Aitchison). Presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine, fully serviced and worki...ng. Measures 8" diameter overall with a 4.25" diameter dial x 2" deep. Stock number 40678.
