17th Century Oak Floor Standing Bible Box with Drawer
An original 17th century oak floor standing bible box with rare full width drawer to the base and carved decoration to the front and sides c.1660. Planked top with moulded edge and original hook an...d eye hinges. The front and sides carved with decorative lunettes, original hand forged lock plate and clasp central to the front and moulded waist rail below. Single full width drawer sat below, decorated with a band of smaller lunettes, plus original turned knobs and matching carving to the lower half of the sides. Moulded plinth to the base with small paws forming the feet, which are sat either side of the front edges. The lid opening to reveal a clean old paper lined interior with original arm to hold the lid up; matching lining to the drawer. Presented in excellent original condition with a superb original patina. Measures 29" wide x 20" deep x 12.75" high. Stock number 41776.
