The postage and packing charges for mainland UK are shown for most items on this website.
Where an item is large, requires specialist delivery, or is to be sent to an address abroad, please contact us with your postcode for a specific door-to-door delivery quote.
Following your purchase please allow up to 48 hours for our team to pack and arrange postage/delivery, or to confirm that your item is available to collect from the shop. We will contact you once the item is ready.
MAINLAND UK SHIPPING
Small items
Smaller items are shipped by next day Royal Mail Special Delivery, or via another of our chosen carriers, which includes insurance for the item whilst in transit and a guaranteed tracked delivery.
You will receive an email from us, which will include all relevant information and a tracking number. To be covered by insurance all items must be checked and any in transit damage reported to the shipping company within 24 hours of delivery. The customer must also retain all packaging in the event of damages.
Large items
Larger items are hand-delivered by our delivery team within the UK mainland. We will be in contact by telephone and/or email within 48 hours of purchase to discuss a suitable delivery time.
We offer a professional, fully insured, delivery service for larger items. Please contact us with your postcode for a door-to-door delivery quote for a specific item.
For clocks and barometers bought from us, we also offer a setting up service by our trained personnel (local deliveries only).
Timescale
Delivery of small items within the UK mainland will be around 2 to 3 days after purchase.
Delivery of larger items within the UK mainland are usually within 3 weeks of purchase.
EUROPE AND WORLDWIDE
Small items
Smaller items are shipped by DHL, or another of our chosen carriers, and includes insurance for the item whilst in transit and a guaranteed tracked delivery.
Large items
Through our trusted international shippers we will source the most competitive quote for delivery to your door. All items are wrapped and packed by the specialist shippers.
We are happy to make initial arrangements for worldwide shipments on your behalf. However, please note that the shipping payment is made by you, the customer, directly with the shippers. The shipping contract is therefore between you the customer, and the shippers (not Sturman’s Antiques). We recommend that customers obtain adequate insurance for each item prior to shipment, to cover them in the event of any loss or damage in transit.
Please be aware that it is the customer’s responsibility to check with the shipping agent and/or relevant customs office regarding any import duties that may be due.
Timescale
Worldwide deliveries can vary depending on distance to travel, method of shipping and the border controls within the destination country.
We would expect most deliveries of small items to Europe to arrive within 2 weeks. Larger items to Europe should arrive within 4 weeks. We advise to always check with the shipper/carrier to confirm likely delivery times.
Deliveries to north and south America, Asia and Australia can take 1 to 2 months. We always advise to check with the shipper/carrier to confirm likely delivery times.
