With over 30 years of experience, Peter Sturman has built a reputation for his discerning eye and deep knowledge of antiques. Every piece that comes into Sturmans Antiques is hand-picked by Peter, reflecting his commitment to quality, authenticity, and character. His curated approach ensures customers can always discover something unique and timeless, whether it's a fine piece of furniture, a decorative item, or a collector's treasure.
Peter's passion for antiques was inspired from an early age. His father was also a respected antique dealer, and growing up surrounded by beautiful and historic objects gave Peter both his knowledge and his love for the trade. Continuing the family tradition, Peter has carried forward those values of trust, expertise, and personal service - values that remain at the heart of Sturmans Antiques today.
Hawes and Yorkshire Dales
Our shop is proudly situated in the charming and bustling market town of Hawes, a true jewel of Wensleydale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Surrounded by sweeping hills, dry-stone walls and rolling green pastures, Hawes is a place where tradition thrives and visitors feel instantly at home. Its lively weekly market, independent shops, cosy tearooms and welcoming inns create a friendly atmosphere where browsing, discovering and exploring come naturally.
